Emergency Dentist in Oakham, Rutland

In dental pain or damaged a tooth? Call West Road Dental Practice in Oakham on 01572 722677. We will tell you what an emergency appointment costs before you come in.

If you are in pain, have broken or knocked out a tooth, or something has gone wrong since a recent treatment, call us on 01572 722677. Phoning is much faster than filling in a form — a form waits until somebody opens it, and a dental emergency should not.

We will tell you what an emergency appointment costs when you call, before you come in, and explain the cost of any further treatment before we start it.

When to call us

Ring the practice if you have any of the following. If you are not sure whether it counts, call anyway and let us decide — that is what we are here for.

  • Toothache that is keeping you awake, or that painkillers are not touching
  • A knocked-out or badly broken tooth
  • Swelling in the gum, face or jaw
  • A lost filling, crown or veneer
  • Bleeding that will not stop after an extraction
  • A broken denture, or a brace or aligner that is cutting into your mouth
  • An injury to the mouth after a fall or a knock

Go straight to A&E or call 999 if

Some problems are beyond what any dental practice can treat, and waiting for an appointment is the wrong thing to do. This is general NHS guidance, not something specific to us. Call 999 or go to A&E if you have:

  • Swelling that is affecting your breathing, your swallowing or your vision
  • Bleeding you cannot get under control
  • A serious injury to the face, mouth or jaw, especially after a blow to the head

If we are closed

Message the practice on WhatsApp: 07813 343241. This is our out-of-hours number, so someone from the practice will see it. If you cannot get through, or it is urgent and cannot wait, call NHS 111 or use 111.nhs.uk. They can arrange urgent dental care out of hours and will tell you where to go. Then call us when we reopen so we can pick up your care.
